Lecturers

This week, we will be talking about the lecturers in UNITEN.
We will be choosing a lecturer who we like and we will tell you why we like he or she and the achievement they had done through their projects, etc.

Zuraidah Ali

Puan Zue or Madam Zue is a lecturer in UNITEN who teaches english and her education backgrounds are in the progress of doing a Ph.D in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and M.Ed. (Measure and Evaluation), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, B.Ed. Hons (TESL), Universiti Malaya. Her area of expertise is group communication, problem-based learning and second language learning.

She teaches me English when I was in foundation and I enjoy entering her class as its always fun with activities.  She will always work hard in making her classes fun with activities like acting a scene from the text book and she is a friendly lecturer and will always guide her students who are weak in her classes. She will give them advice and practices to train them. She used to teach me about public speaking, and she will always gives us practices in her classes to help us to be able to speak better during assesment and encourage us to join public speaking competitions or debate to improves our speaking ability. She always interact with her students no matter where they meet and she run a lot of event and activities in UNITEN for students to have fun.

Now let me tell you more about her, the activities she had done in UNITEN which brings students together and bring something new and fun to us. Recently she held a dodgeball competition in UNITEN which was the first dogdeball competition in UNITEN. The competition was a success as students had fun playing dodgeball and they get to learn about it, the way it's being play, the rules, etc. Besides that, she held the Murni top model on the 14th of march 2012 which was a successful event for the girls in UNITEN as they get to experienced the latest fashion in UNITEN. Back in 2011 which was last year, she held the 1st Inter-residential Public Speaking competition in UNITEN which gives the oppurtunity to students to join a public speaking event and they get to experience the feeling of speaking in front of a public audience. The public speaking was a success as she will be doing the 2nd Inter-residential public speaking competition in UNITEN and I'm sure this time, it will be a more grand event. I think it will be if it gets all the support and participation from students. Besides all these events and competitions, she held lots more event in UNITEN that will bring students together and brings fun to students.

Alan Cheah Kah Hoe

Mr.Alan is an lecture from the Information System department at COIT. He current position is Information Technology Officer and with 6 years of working experience as we can he is a experienced lecture or an worker. According to the College of Information Technology Academic Staff Profile, Mr.Alan has an academic qualification in Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons).

Furthermore, Mr. Alan is a member of Association for Computing Machinery(ACM). ACM is the wold's largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. He completed a ICT MasterPlan from 2007 to 2010 and ongoing with a research of SARG-UNITEN Seed Fund. Mr.Alan also has his own publications on 2007 about RSCCT Sabah 2007. He currently teaching Management Information System, Lotus Domino Designer & Lotus Notes and Computing Skills. Besides that, he also a lab tutor for Statistics for Computing.

Mr.Alan is supporting COIT MAKNA 2012 with his cool style and cute peace.

Mr.Alan looks like a serious and strict when your first meet but actually he is a friendly and fun guy. When he was lecturing inside the class or the lab you will never feel boring because he always have some kind of jokes for you. He also having all kind of ideas and ways on how to improve students quality and standard such as you will having a group make up by certain amount of member by us and marks will be given according to the amount of members. But if you got it right only you can have those luxury amount of marks added but if wrong same rules will apply and marks deducted according the size of the member you have. So that, students will study hard for his quizzes or tests and each quizzes will be done physical in front of the class. Students are all having a fun and excitement during the quizzes or test because of his ways or rules of doing it.

Lim Kok Cheng

     The lecturer that I going to talk about is Lim Kok Cheng. He is teaching in Software Engineering department. The academic qualification that he has is Bachelor in Information Technology(Hons) in University Tun Abdul Razak(UNITAR) at Kuala Lumpur. The current position that he has in Uniten is tutor. He has more working experience such as tutor in College of IT in Uniten from February 2010 until now, lab tutor in College of IT from June 2008 until May 2009, research assistant in MOSTI from June 2008 until April 2009 and more....

      In addition , the current courses that he taught in Uniten are Web Programming, Programming 1, Programming 2 and Software Testing. The research that he undergoing is a comparative study of GUI and TUI for Computer Aided Learning Courseware.        Moreover, he has also won a award which is Anugerah Pengajaran & Pembelajaran, Pensyarah Muda Harapan 2011 (COIT) sempena Hari Inovasi UNITEN 2011. I like to talk about this lecturer because he kind-hearted person, a friendly person and he is one of the best  lecturer in teaching with telling jokes and more fun when studying in his class. I have more experience with studying in his class for Programming 2 and I can study well for that subject , and can score well in that subject.
