Known as Mr. T.J, he is a senior lecturer working at UNITEN, teaching in the Graphics & Multimedia department. He specializes in teaching students to create coursewares and instructional designs, about multimedia, and many more. He has an academic qualification in 'Bachelors' as well as 'Masters of Information Technology'. He has won several academic awards such as, 'Best Teaching Category - Majlis Penyampaian Anugerah UNITEN 2007'. So in a nutshell, he is a very professional lecturer with an impressive background. But really, that's not why students like him so much or why I chose to write about him.
As a student majoring in Graphics and Multimedia, Ive had the pleasure of knowing and being Mr. T.J.s student for some time. At first glance, he looks like any other typical boring lecturer (lecturers are not being paid to be entertaining, mind you). But in fact, for better or for worse, he is quite the polar opposite. He is extremely extroverted, and, I feel like, he actually derives pleasure commenting on the behaviors of students. Youre standing funny? Beware. Your voice sounds funny today? Better watch out. So yeah, a lot of students had their 'T.J.' event. But of course, we all know that he's just fooling around. I believe that he is just more comfortable with students when he knows them more on a personal level, and perhaps its the same with students. Besides that, the criticism and comments that he would give during lecture hours are actually very constructive, motivating, and encouraging, plus being somewhat humorous. I actually rather a lecturer thats warm and encouraging than one thats robotic and stoic.
This is the funny man |
So in conclusion, Mr. T.J. is a lecturer with a great set of skills equipped with a personality and attitude to match. But more importantly, he is an awesome lecturer whom has won the respect of many of UNITENs students as well as mine. I hope to be able to continue being a student under his lecture, and gain as many knowledge as I can without having my butt fall off from laughing too much.
