Bachelor of Information Technology (Graphics & Multimedia) (Hons.)

I want talk to about this undergraduate program because it offers an interesting perspective as well as a wide prospect of future jobs. The first thing that comes to mind when hearing "Graphics and Multimedia" is that students that take the course need to be creative, be able to draw impressive graphics, or to be artistic in general. Though there may be some truth in that, it is not 100% correct. First, because this is an IT course and not a full graphics program. Thus, will students will still learn a few things similar to the other IT or CS programs such as subjects related to programming languages, data bases, etc. Secondly, I feel that everyone is an artist, some just work harder than others. There are such things called drawing techniques, theories, and others that are teachable. If it was unteachable, there would be no such thing as drawing classes and art teachers. Another thing I want to point out is about what might happen after graduating from this course. Since you are graduating from Bachelor of Information Technology (Graphics & Multimedia) (Hons.), does that mean that you will still be making graphics and multimedia when working? Not necessarily, but if that pleases you, then do so. As mentioned before, this is an IT course and not a full graphics program. I've actually managed to chat with some of the working graduates from this course. One said that he completely switch to full IT instead of graphical works because it offers a higher pay. When asked if the Graphics and Multimedia course prepared him an IT job, he said with confidence that it did indeed. In conclusion, this program not only offers complete insight on graphics and multimedia, but in information technology as well.

Another aspect I want to talk about is the learning environment that it poses. Let's take a look at the infrastructure first. Almost all the classes are conducted at College of Information Technology or COIT for short. Here is a picture of the college.
COIT
COIT is a relatively new structure complete with facilities such as up to date computers labs, spacious classrooms and lecture halls, adequate and relatively clean bathrooms at every floor, and with it's own Cafe. But the best part is that the college is air-conditioned at every floor and every room. Another thing you can expect is that you will have a relatively laid backed time as compared to, let's say engineering courses. This is due to the fact that one, the lecturers are more encouraging and more inspiring. In my opinion, to excel in this course, you need to be passionate and enjoy what you are doing, just as the lecturers are as they teach. Secondly, I feel that the subjects that you have to take are not that difficult, with some exception such as programming. But hey, programming is way easier than subjects such as calculus that other students have to take. And thirdly, if you are like me, you will actually enjoy and have fun doing some of the lab works and assignments such as creating and drawing pictures, creating animation, developing applications, and etc. So in short, you might have fun and generally have good time when taking this course.
